Accelerating action on sustainable goals

Join #KAPTalks with Donald Kaberuka on 20th September at the Columbia University on progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Register here.

Wednesday 20.09.2023

Halfway through the 15-year Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda, the goals seem more out of reach than ever. The COVID-19 pandemic greatly set back progress, and ongoing armed conflict and insecurity around the world remain a significant obstacle. Further, there is a great need for SDG financing, particularly in Africa. At the same time, there are successful examples of progress in achieving the SDGs, strengthening cooperation, and building resilience to climate change and other future shocks.

Join #KAPTalks lecturer Dr. Donald Kaberuka, Rwandan economist and former President of the African Development Bank (ADB), to make sense of these developments.  He’llshare experiences as President of the ADB and COVID-19 Envoy for the African Union, as well as his own thoughts on what is needed to accelerate achievement in the second half of the SDG period.

The lecture is part of the International Conference on Sustainable Development, hosted by Columbia University.

When: 20th September 2023 at 15:00 EST / 21:00 CET

Where: Alfred Lerner Hall, Columbia University, 2920 Broadway, New York, NY 10027
